Space is something we all need. Wide open space, green plants, flowers, majestic trees, bird sounds and blue skies.
That s what you get when visiting the SFBG in the early morning.
You may come far like me but it s worth the effort.

I like to prowl around to the different zones and observe their changing foliage. Sometimes there s a flowering bush just starting to have buds sprouting. Sometimes the leaves of trees are turning colors like now. Sometimes it s just being amazed that this space is here! There are so many variations to green that I never knew until I started visiting the gardens.

Don t feed the wildlife. Squirrels can be quite bold. They will not hesitate to scamper towards your backpack and poke their heads inside!
The small birds, crows, hawks and geese are foraging for their own food along the lawns and shrubbery.

I have heard passersby say they caught a glimpse of a coyote (!). I have not seen this said coyote which is good.

In any case, there are not many places so well kept, beautiful and having such a variety of botanicals as here. Stop by. Buy some souvenirs or gifts of garden-focused items from the small shop. All the proceeds go to the SFBG. This place is a treasure for all to share. Enjoy your time here.
