Jonathan Alleman Review of Sofitel T5

The Sofitel is a close location and yet a difficult location to manage to get to, if you arrive from EU to any other terminal beside #5 as we do from the EU. It is tiring and sadly many staff at Heathrow do not know of the Sofitel hotel nor can they direct you, even though it has been there or some 20 years. After walking through the underground and long dirty halls under terminals to rush and then wait 15 minutes for the next Heathrow express to terminal 5 UGH! Hotel : the decor has never changed and is getting tired. A good business hotel, but not great if your on leisure trip, one can feel very out of place. And the spa is of no help as usually booked.
Though very professional front desk staff and each multi lingual. I have stayed there not 3 - 4 times this past year and yet I am a stranger each time ai arrive - not great. Sadly this last time I was offered a room upgrade for a cost of additional 140pounds and then given in a terribly depressing suite with a view of a roof and air-conditioners! I immediately had the bellman advise the front desk to find me another room. it was done thankfully and much better suit. Yet the fact they were happy to dump a return client and Sofitel member into a dump and charge me more without a thought. Sorry but I will enjoy my central hotels from now on even for one night. Or happy to give my business to other nearby airport hotels. Sorry sadly I shall not speak well of this hotel group.
