A year after we purchased our house, there was a severe hail storm. Most of the roofs in our neighborhood were replaced. However, when our adjuster looked at our roof, he said there was no hail damage BUT that IMT would no longer insure our roof due to age and wear of the shingles. So the year before it was insurable, then it suddenly aged horribly in one year yet miraculously escaped the hail damage that the other houses suffered. So we paid for a new roof out of pocket and found a new insurance company. I gave them an extra star because the customer service was actually very good during the cancellation process. I just don't care for their insurance practices.
