Petra day tour- we hired the service online and a confirmation email arrived. We were raised with a combi at 4am from the door of a hotel, the driver stopped twice on the way to go to the bathroom and buy something to eat / eat, he took us from Jerusalem to Eilat, the border with Jordan, there was waiting for us a guide that helped us with the exit process from Israel, he is paid 65usd x customs fees (it is a process that he advances to avoid wasting time there) once you finish the exit from Israel you have to walk about 100 meters to customs Jordanian, the entry procedures are a little more disorganized, but it does not take long, you also have to pay 60usd of customs fees, once the process was finished on departure there was another combi waiting for us. The guide was very nice all the way, it was a small bus, and it takes a long time to get to Petra, there was a stop to leave people who were doing another tour, and the rest of us continued on our way to Petra. We had only one stop to go to the bathroom and shop. The view of the place is beautiful at that stop. It took us an hour and a half or more to get to Petra, while the guide told us and told us all the way. Once in Petra he took care of the tickets and we walked to the "amphitheater" the tour continues but the hours for the day tour are not given. After the tour with explanations you are given an hour free, but if you are tired it is the time it takes to get back to the entrance. We left Petra at 15:45, and from there they took us to lunch, the place was fine, it was not the best but neither was it very ugly. We started the return approximately 5:00 p.m., there was one more stop and at 7:00 p.m. we were crossing the border back, from the Israeli side the combi was waiting for us to take us back to Jerusalem, we arrived at approximately 10:00 p.m. I recommend bringing food and plenty of water along the way. The tour was fine to be one day, and they did everything.
