Today 3 Aug 2016 at 1645 I went to BMW in Fayetteville, NC and was told that my 1997 BMW can not be serviced there anymore. I was shocked, disgusted and embarrassed to hear this since I have been a loyal customer since 2003. I noticed that in the used car(s) lots 2000's and below are for sale. Now what else was mentioned to me is that I can still buy the parts for my car there.
I'm not sure that this makes good business sense and it feels more like stereotyping and discrimination against an automobile based on the age. I've always believed that once you purchase a BMW you are part of a family but if this is how you treat an older model someone needs to be questioned on that decision. Now I am forced to take my car somewhere else within Fayetteville, NC and have my car serviced which I did and it cost me well over $900 and I am still having the same issue. I trusted BMW because I have always gotten the best customer service and repair work and I know all the staff. Now my wallet is being trouble shooted by a dealership that's not equipped to handle the repairs that I need by a qualified BMW dealership. Needless to say I had planned on purchasing another BMW next year now I'm not so sure if that car in 5-10 years will be allowed service in an authorized BMW dealership as well.
I'm not one to complain but this is truly ridiculous. I served in the United States Army for 20 years and the Army hasn't turned it's back on Veterans why would BMW do this against there own vehicles?
