My son , 8th grader has been doing FLVS for his 7th and 8th grade years as a home schooled student. As a parent I am please by the quality or work and wealth of resources. I see such negative comments so I had to share some positive. Whenever my son or I text, email and/or call them we get a response usually within 24 hours , but mostly the same day. He has to submit 4 assignments by Sunday for his Spanish teacher , Great ! it makes him stay on track and be accountable. Granted I am certified teacher so I can teach and assist my son in all areas. I do not need to call the teachers all the time , except to occasionally to explain a particular project/assignment/lesson in detail if my son ( and I ) did not understand. I like my tax dollars at work! I like the teachers stepping up and making sure the program is not weak and very challenging. Parents have to do their part in assuring the computer or the teacher not do all the work but get involve with their child's education especially on FLVS its not automatic; check your child's work before they submit it. They are given more than one chance make them do it over; help them research. Look through the website and find the resources; do the practice problems. Make FLVS work for your child's academic success.
