Mark Morrison is Bayshore s hidden treasure and the reason we will continue to come back to Bayshore Medical. Let me tell you why.

When I brought mom to the ER at Bayshore, they attended to her as quickly as possible, but as with most ER rooms the wait was long and uncomfortable. The next day they brought her up to a room in 4 East and she spent the next couple of days in a lot of pain and discomfort. She was miserable and so were we. Over the next couple of days she seemed to get worse so I tried speaking to the nurse to find out what was happening and all she would say is that the doctor had already spoken with mom in the morning and since it was the weekend, there weren t many doctors around. I asked to call a doctor and she told me that it would be better to wait until Monday. Mom was in too much pain to wait two days to speak with a doctor! I felt like we were going around in circles, not knowing what was wrong with her and what the next step would be. I do understand that each nurse is inundated with similar requests and mom is just another patient to them, but this is my mom who works serving patients for a living and would do anything in her power to make them as comfortable as possible.

In my frustration, I started to read reviews about the hospital and wondered if I had made a mistake in bring mom to Bayshore. Throughout the reviews I kept coming across so many positive remarks about a Mark Morrison and wondered if he really existed. Then on the 3rd day, a man came in to see my mom s bedmate and I heard how happy she was to see him and she called him Mark. And that s when our experience at Bayshore changed dramatically!

I had no intention of ever returning to Bayshore Hospital, but thanks to Mark, I would happily return to Bayshore for the care of a family member under Mark s supervision. He has totally changed my perception of Bayshore and it s staff. Mark is the shining star at Bayshore. He has made my family s experience pleasant, comfortable, he s kept us well informed, has made all the right connections for us. Mark checked in on Mom to see what she needed. Mark is the perfect example of how to service your clients so they get into the right frame of mind to heal. This is how people thrive and businesses excel. I am so impressed with Mark, that I will be telling everyone I come across.

Mark works with an excellent team of professionals and caring individuals and I want to give them the credit. My apologies if I ve missed someone.

There is the incredible Chef Joe Leroy who took out the time to make a special meal for mom to bring a smile to her face despite the pain she was in...and he personally delivered it. Dr. Cunningham helped mom rule out any other issues that might exist and he did it was compassion and was very communicative. Dee, the ER Patient Rep, stepped in to help mom when Mark wasn t available - thank you Dee! Bianca, the night nurse and Greta were fantastic, professional, kind, helpful and attentive to my moms needs. Noel, the NP, was wonderful and communicated directly with me and made sure my concerns were addressed. Catalina and especially Patricia were both little angels for mom and ensured she had all the home comforts like a sponge bath, a midnight snack, extra ice packs, cold ice water amongst many other things. There is nothing they wouldn t do to make mom comfortable - thank you ladies. The concierge lady, Carol, was a breath of fresh air. She was so kind, gentle hearted, generous and wanted to do anything to make mom feel a little more at home and gave her a little trinkets like deodorant, ear plugs and sleeping mask. The occupational therapist, Flash was tough, but she was great! She encouraged and helped my mom to get out of bed and walk with a walker and gave her back her mobility. Kate Lewis, mom s social worker, was just the right person to help her transition to a Rehab facility. Kate, thank you for taking the time to speak with me today and helping mom.
