I needed to refinance my home in a relatively short time frame last spring. I also have a unique income situation with a mix of short term employment and independent contractor work. After spending time searching through tons of online mortgage brokers, starting paperwork, giving up when I got to the income verification section, and receiving annoying sales calls, I finally started looking for a local broker. Fast forward six months and my wife and I find ourselves considering making an offer on a home very spur of the moment on a weekend. I was really impressed that he went to all that trouble to make that happen so fast. We were even able to close a week early because I had to be overseas for work when the original closing was scheduled.
