Leah Strid Review of Joe Machens Mazda Mitsubishi F...

Visited Joe Machens in August - I was pre-approved for a car loan, and knew they had several vehicles that met the requirements I was looking for. Spent 3 extremely unproductive hours in their dealership. While the salesman I worked with was very nice, the overall experience was awful. Most of the cars I was interested in were either sold or couldn't be located. We drove over to see one at a different Machens lot but I was told I couldn't get out of the car to look at the vehicle unless I wanted to test drive it. Then they had me test-drive one that had an awful Carfax report (it was involved in a lemon/buy back program) and didn't show me that until after I'd driven it. The third vehicle I looked at, I couldn't test drive because the keys were locked inside of a building that had apparently closed early. Every time I tried to leave, the EXTREMELY arrogant and pushy sales manager would come over and try to convince me to keep looking at their cars. Finally I told him I had information about enough cars, and that I had some other places to look before the day was over. He very rudely asked "where are you going to go? We have all the (listed off all the various car brands they owned)." That was the final straw for me, and I left. Yes, Machens may have the largest inventory around, but they seem to have trouble keeping track of which vehicles are still available, and even the ones that were available were not as nice as I expected. Our sales guy was nice, but the sales manager totally killed the potential of any possible sale for him (which my husband told him when he called later to see if we had made a decision). *** Edited 3 weeks later to add *** I have now been contacted by TWO Machens employees via Facebook message to talk about this review. I find it incredibly unprofessional that instead of using the contact information I provided them when I visited the dealership, I'm being hassled on social media sites.
