Lumpkin Park in Columbus, Ga. A church member of mine moved into Lumpkin Park in May. she paid all that they said was due to move in. She paid her rent timely for June and July. On today, 7/8/20, they told her that she owed $200.00 because HAP did not pay for the full month of May. Now this person is on a fixed income and is disabled...She was not made aware of this at move in or in the two months following. They never told her that there would be an overlap in subsidy because she moved from another subsidized property. Nothing was ever explained. She is not even sure how they came up with the amount. When asked why she wasn t notified, the responded that they left a note in her door. She requested a copy of the letter and they said they didn t have a copy. What office operates this way. She would like this fee waived for obvious reasons and think this would be fair and the right thing to do. Can someone at the corporate level help her with this issue?
