I had high expectations coming here since everyone who had recommended Yauatcha has good taste in dim sum. The shrimp dumpling (har gow) wrapper was soggy and fell apart quickly. The shao mai was bland and hard. The crispy duck was deep fried and dry. We could barely eat it without choking on the dry flesh. That duck died for a bad cause. Seafood soup dumpling was the only one that was acceptable. The broth was a bit salty but was countered by the bland dumpling.

Everything was bland and lacked the basics of dim sum: an al dente wrapper, moist duck but crispy skin, and flavor. I think they focused too much on the expensive ingredients instead of actually making it delicious.
