On Sept 10 2020 I was involved in a single car accident after I lost control of my car in the rain on the turnpike. The only hospital I could be taken to after sustaining injuries, including bruised ribs and broken right foot, was Kendall Regional Hospital. I must say that this wasnt a hospital I wanted to go to but it was my only choice. My experience in the ER was 50/50, while everyone helping and examining me were very nice I was left alone in the room for hours at a time without anyone checking up on me despite me being in horrible pain (and receiving NO meds) and needing help to use the "restroom" because i could not walk. Once admitted to the 4th floor (Orthopedics floor) I was greeted by the RN who'd be my nighttime RN through my 4 day stay, Adrian M. Let me tell you how I feel so blessed to have had Adrian as my nurse! I needed help using the restroom and (cleaning) myself. I was extremely embarrassed but each time he assured me it was his job and it was "ok". He made me feel comfortable, he helped EVERY SINGLE TIME I called for him; he was kind and caring and really made me feel cared for! If I ever had to return the KRH I would hope (although I know unlikely) that he'd be my RN during my stay. I also received great assistance from another nighttime nurse, Yeleny! She was a sweetheart and my daytime nurse Catherine was also a major blessing and I am soo grateful for Catherine and Adrian! I was however extremely frustrated and upset with the way things took place when it came to my surgery; I spent all day without eating Friday, Sept 11th waiting on my surgery just to be told I wouldn't be getting surgery that day. On Saturday morning the general doctor advised me I couldn't have surgery because i had pneumonia and it was be dangerous to be put under general anesthesia yet at 10am on they came to take me into surgery. No one was communicating with anyone else about my condition and my surgery, it took almost 2.5 hours for every one to be on the same page and then finally I was able to have surgery which I must say went very well. I am grateful to Dr. Rojas for a great job on my foot!
