Nitin Gupta Review of Grand Mirage Resort Bali
Everything good you expect from a five star hotel....
Everything good you expect from a five star hotel. But why 3 stars, read on our experience.. !!
We booked Grand Mirage for a day to conclude our adventure trip in Bali. We thought we need the easiest check-in and best of the rooms to relax after our Mt Batur hiking trip in the morning. It didnt turn out to be as easy as we thought.
On our arrival, we were asked to checkout our upgraded room in the adjacent hotel owned by Grand Mirage because we had a kid. When we told them we booked premium ocean view room and as long as new "upgraded" room has ocean view, we are happy. To which they replied by saying, its a partial ocean view room and asked us to check it out once. We agreed to check it out.
Needless to say, there was no view from the room. All I could see was balcony of the room opposite to us.
We refused, and then they offered us the deluxe room with ocean view which has now been renamed to "premium ocean view" room. Its on the ground floor. We later learned that they suddenly got very busy and that's why they are running short of the rooms. They asked us to include the floor number in our next booking if we wanted a higher floor.
We were offered complimentary lunch coupons which we accepted as there was no other room available.
Just to mention that while the breakfast is star of meals in Grand Mirage, lunch is below average. There wasn't much variety of vegetarian dishes. Only good thing was live counter for pasta that saved the day for us.
