Kew is a 120 hectare garden with woodland, lakes and the incredible glasshouses. Founded in 1759, the site became the Royal Botanical Garden in 1840.
Reportedly the largest collection of cultivated plants in the world, Kew focuses on research and conservation. The garden houses some of the world's rarest specimens.
The 2019 Orchid Festival celebrating the biodiversity of Colombia was outstanding, visually stunning and well executed.
The site is well maintained and tidy. The restaurants and shops are often rather busy and can be expensive.
