I spent 7 days at Hamot, 4 of them in critical care after being involved in a bad auto accident. I was transferred to Hamot from Greenville hospital who did not have the facility to care for me. I received excellent care from the trauma team doctors, and the nurses were caring and took great care of me.
If I had any complaint It would be that it was noisy at night. I can't blame that on the hospital of the staff. They did their best dealing with more difficult patients. My only other complaint would be the fact that they wanted me to have follow up visits after I left the hospital with three different doctors all in the Erie area, even though we asked for follow up treatment closer to home. I live two hours south of Erie. Once home I had my family doctor schedule follow up visits with UPMC doctors within a few miles of my home. Over all, my experience with Hamot was a positive one
