The Portrait Gallery of the 17th Century (until Feb 2nd 2020in the Hermitage) really is a stunning exhibition for two reasons: first of all a large ensemble of quite huge group portraits of successful administrators, civil defense groups and traders are very handsomely shown in the big exhibition hall. And secondly, a present day intervention shows newly made portraits of authentic historical colored citizens of the 17th century, personified by successful colored citizens of today - such as e.g. the rapper Taifun and the football hero Ruud Gullit. Very well done, the two blend perfectly together.
