I'll always remember when I applied for a job here...

I'll always remember when I applied for a job here around 2000, and they said that they wouldn't hire me because I'm a veteran. I was in the inactive reserves, and they didn't understand what that meant, so they said they wouldn't hire me because it sounded like I was too connected to the military and they didn't want to risk me being deployed.
(FYI. Even if you're in the active reserves, it's illegal to not hire someone because of that.)
