Took our family to Kentucky Kingdom around noon on July 2. After riding Thunder Run we went into Hurricane Bay. Around 3:30 my son and I got in line for Deep Water Dive. It took an hour to get through the long line when a storm blew up and they shut down the ride.

It rained for just 15 minutes and began to clear up, but was informed at 4:50 that Hurricane Bay was CLOSED FOR THE DAY! We were told the rest of the park was about to open so we decided to get pizza. While eating out $24.99 pizza (plus drinks) we were told at 5:30 the whole park was closed for the day! (The sun was shining outside and it was clear skies the rest of the day)

We had begun going to Holiday World a few years back but wanted to check out the new Kentucky Kingdom because its closer (We live in Louisville). This was the worst experience I've ever had at an amusement park. As we were walking our sunny trip to the car around 5:45, one father told me it was the first and last trip for his family to Kentucky Kingdom. For us, tickets and food were over $200. Holiday World from now on.
