Cherise Cappella Review of El camino hospital

My Aunt had surgery last month and was in the CCU. Due to many complications, the palliative team met with our family for a conversation about end of life care. I wanted to share that even though the circumstances were grim, my Aunt and the rest of the family who sat bedside until she passed were treated with the utmost care, dignity and compassion. The entire team, nurses and doctors allowed us to all be with her until after hours. We were brought snacks, beverages and an endless supply of tissues. They comforted my uncle and called him by his first name. As far as death experiences go, I felt we were respected in our grief and that the staff was really there for us and respected the decisions that were made. I thank you for making this experience a little less awful. It truly meant a lot to our family.
On a side note, less than 7 hours after she died at around 6am, our family received a call asking for a skin donation. Maybe that perhaps, could have been addressed at a better time.
