If you are an athlete, especially a runner (or like me you are too old, but still want to try to be one), go to Finish Line. Now.

I have tried many, many physiotherapists in NYC over the past 15 years, but they are all charlatans in comparison (some of them also not in comparison...). At FL they are very knowledgeable about the basics of how your body works and is supposed to work, professional, and caring. Their objective is clearly to get you back doing whatever you are doing as fast as possible, and for as long as possible, rather than keeping you coming back, as for most other PTs in my experience. And it does not hurt that their space is great, and they have all the latest technology to help out recovery and therapy. I couldn t be happier to have found them.

And another thing. They work closely with you and your insurance to figure out a financial arrangement that works for everybody involved. Which might entail some kind of (reasonable in my view) contribution on the part of the client. But this is way more honest and sustainable than the many PTs who don t even charge a copay, as they are supposed to, but then run what is essentially an insurance scam on the side by charging the insurance company outrageous amounts for services that are just not very effective. I would much rather pay some money to get an effective treatment than show up every week to a place that gives me a useless treatment for free. You get what you pay for, I guess...
