City of Ahmadabad is known for its heritage. It has many historical monuments to look out for. This place riverfront shall give visitors a feel of new world development as it is recently built on the banks of River Sabarmati, the famous river which also houses the Sabarmati Ashram, house of Great freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi.
River Sabarmati is the river which separates old Ahmadabad from new Ahmadabad. Oldest bridge is known as the Dandi Bridge which now is not operational and its place is taken over by other bridges which connect the two parts.
Riverfront is the place to spend evenings and pre dinner time. One can reach here around 17:00. One can stroll, walk, jog, run or even hire a bicycle and do cycling right on banks of the river promenade. Nearing to dusk when sunlight is dimming one can see beautiful lights of the surrounding buildings and click some beautiful pictures.
Entering from west (new ahmadabad part) is recommended and entering from near the Ashram Road / Nehru Bridge is recommended.
The east side (old Ahmadabad side) near to Shahibag entrance has a beautiful landscaped garden which one can visit. Note that as on date there is no way one can cross from one side of the riverfront promenade to the other side without taking the over river bridge.
I hope you enjoy this place. Any more interesting facts you find during your visit do pen them.
