Upon arriving at the Kimpton I was displeased to find they do not have a curbside to at least pull up and unload luggage before taking the vehicle across the street to park ($25/ night). I think at a minimum there would be at least on valley attendant to help with luggage and check in. So basically I had to sit outside in the pouring rain and unload the luggage myself.

After getting inside, soaking wet, I had to poke around to find the check in desk, which was a fairly smooth experience. They offered me two drink tickets for my girlfriends birthday, which was nice. However, being Sapphire Elite (stay at least 75 nights/ year) I was supposed to get an upgraded room, which I never got. Looking around, the hotel obviously had a lot of capacity even with the new COVID requirements.

The rooms was clean but the furniture was rather outdated for a Kimpton. The halls smelled very badly of mildew from all the rain. Furthermore, there were other small things - like the broken hairdryer.

The most disappointing experience was when calling for room service for a coffee since I ve been traveling all day, I was informed that it was currently not available because there was a wedding reception and they didn t have enough people (basically they were more important than customers who spend nearly 75% of the year in their hotels). Either way, I went down to get it myself just to discover that the espresso machine wasn t working (bartender didn t even know) and they didn t even have coffee grounds for an american coffee, so I went back to the room empty handed and disappointed.

All in all is was just a bad experience. It was supposed to be a special stay but was short in all regards. I would expect this from a holiday inn or something equivalent, but not a Kimpton.

Conclusion - save the money and get better service somewhere else.
