I m right now homeless. I applied to the Hudvash and qualified because I was a 4 family house hold. Submitted all my paper work and qualified. I then had one of my family member leave and went down to 3 family house hold. I had to re applied and re did paper work. At this point no one re evaluated my pay stubs to see if I qualified as a family member of 3.
I was told to attend To two more appointments for the process. I attended these appointments even when my car was not working,I took Ubers to make it there because I really need the help. Can t save money there Ubers can be expensive.To the point that I was told I was going to get a voucher and I was called by the housing authority to do the final steps to move in. Having my hopes up, yay !!finally my children and I are going to be housed.
The week of moving date I was called and told I was over qualified.
I informed the VA homeless people on the fourth floor mid February that my family size was brought down to 3 and no one took in reconsideration, that maybe I could of been over qualified. 2 weeks go by and I m being told yes I m getting housed yes you ll get your voucher, catholic charities is paying for your stay til you get this place and for what to be told your over qualified on move in week.
Who forgot to re-evaluate my application, my income and the maximum of how much I should be making to get this assistance?? Not me. I was honest about everything and because of their mistake, for not catching the income treshhold on time all I m getting is I m sorry but you and your kids need to go elsewhere and find help, you have other options.

I m a veteran and I will get help from the VA. That mistake they made, my children will not pay for their mistake. Not only that but they exhausted funds from catholic charities. Around the time I told them,

Re evaluated my income, catching it on Time so that my children and I are not put in the predicament where I m back at square one. (Homeless) Because they failed to recalculate I m being told go find some other organization. Time and money wasted for me and catholic charities because the VA isn t paying for my hotel stay, catholic charities is paying for it . I have children!!! This isnt right?? So because of their mistake my children and I are put in a spot where we may not have a home and I may live in my car with them!! Thanks people of the homeless for vets thanks a lot!!
