So they kept pinging me on LI, so I finally talked to them. Red flags everywhere, they asked for my SSN, address, zip code, etc. all this information before I even spoke to their client? Of course I refused which they accepted. Then they emailed me and asked me to "sign" and acknowledge the following:
"I confirm that the supplier listed above has discussed and qualified me to be presented at Medtronic with #MEDTJP00034392/MEDTJP00036044 listed above for a 24+ months contract position. Furthermore, I will not authorize any other individual, company or organization to represent me to the opportunity listed above. As per our discussion we had submitted your resume to our client Medtronic for Requisition #MJP00034392/MTJP00036044. Please available for in-person or phone interview as required by the client. If you are hired for this position LanceSoft will pay you $110/Hr. on W2 Please plan to begin work two weeks from the day the offer has been made. You will be required to go thru and pass a criminal background check and a drug test before you start."
Of course I refused, I have never never heard of a staffing company or recruiter asking you to confirm your rate for an extended contract by email. Even if this was a legit company, which I doubt, this is borderline illegal if not even enforceable.
Stay clear of this company or at least do your research on them.
