A bit of California history-Portola's expedition apparently stopped at Gazos Creek to rest before heading up the coast-that's a reason to stop. Also nearby Pigeon Point and Ano Nuevo are parts of California history, especially Pigeon Point, an important Beacon to travelers coming to San Francisco in The Gold Rush days.
The place was a road house of sorts for many years, probably fueling many a traveler before going on to Davenport, Santa Cruz, or (in these days) Costanoa.
Under new ownership, it's been revitalized, and the menu is Americana. The pulled pork is really tasty-despite what some have said (and I used to live in North Carolina) and the sides are also grubbin'-especially the fries. PLUS-it's a unique location on the coast, there's literally nothing like it for miles. Check it out!
