A fantastic little gem of a place to visit up by the castle. Completely worth popping into, even if you've passed it on the way to the castle and a local.
It's got the 5 levels of beautiful illusions, mirrors, curiosities and general shenanigans. The top level being the roof with one of the best views in Edinburgh, it was absolutely glorious bring up there and enjoying looking over the wonderfully lit up city. If it had been day-time, I would have done a photosphere.
Some of my favourite things...
- The hall of mirrors, yes having to wear gloves was off-putting - but totally worth it! It was amazing in there.
- The infinite light room was something else. I could have just pitched a tent in there and been content!
- Shadow Art... Press the button, make a funny pose, wait for the flash, then admire the wall. So... Much... Fun!
- The little/large illusion room. Make a big person seem small and vice versa.
- The holograms... They're spooky and amazing. And remind me of when they were popular as necklaces and things when I was little. There's a beautiful one that has a Japanese girl spinning with a fan, it's a moving image one rather than one that you have to move to see it. Very cool.
I'll enjoy visiting again in the future. ^_^
