My husband and I are truck drivers, and we've driven by this place a few times and wondered what it was like. It always seemed like a spectacular place to stay and play. We finally got a chance to stop here overnight, and boy, were we disappointed! Being from Nevada, we can spot loose slots when we play 'em and they were nowhere to be found. Very few penny machines compared to the $1 and $5 plethora throughout. After blowing $100 between the two of us in ~30 minutes, playing .50cents on penny slots, we trudged over to the snack bar (the only establishment open at 11:30pm). We spent $20 on two brownies, a regular order of """nachos""", and """cheese fries.""" The chips were sh*tty, stale, and flavorless. Nacho cheese wasnt terrible, was lukewarm. The fries were frozen, cooked once and burnt, then the cook sprinkled SHREDDED cheese on them, and asked me if I wanted the cheese melted........ Duh, dude. Sent them thru the cooker again, and the fries were crisp to the point of our teeth hurting when we bit into some of them. The brownies were the best part, and even those were lackluster.
As we were leaving, we asked security to call for the shuttle to take us back to the travel center. Stood outside for almost 10 minutes & no shuttle ever came, so we walked our happy butts back to our truck.
We can't comment on how the rooms or any of the restaurants' foods were.
The only pleasant encounter we had was with the wonderful young woman who signed us up for our players cards, and the two security guards we spoke to when asking for the shuttles.
You'd think a hotel like this would be more accommodating and considerate of the guests and patrons (and whats offered to them) that are willing to put so much money in their pockets. Quite a shame. Won't be returning.
