Be aware. You pay per person, not per room. To my surprise, upon arrival at the hotel for check-in I was asked to pay an additional $50 per person or 250.00 USD a night for 3 nights after pre-paying 2 separate connecting rooms. I totally felt scammed, I travel a ton for business and pleasure with my family around the world, and I've never ever been charged a per person fee for a hotel room stay. I was travelling with my family (4) and my parents (2) booked 2 separate connecting rooms, and was told at the front desk that I owe'd more money!! Ridiculous!!! The hotel itself is decent, good breakfast buffet but NO ORDER, totally DISORGANIZED people walked right past the host, sat where they wanted even though I was standing in 'line'. No LINE? Anyway, rooms were comfortable, had a great oceanfront view (beach is ok, remember you are in Cartagena, so beaches are not nice at all - that's why you have to travel to either Baru or Islas del Rosario). The restaurant Erre, atmosphere was AMAZING, food was decent BUT EXTREMELY OVER PRICED! View from the top of the hotel was FANTASTIC. After we got over the intial shock of having to pay for no. of people in room (which we negotiated down) and supposedly happens all the time (whatever), I would NOT go back to this hotel. Not worth the pain, $$, better to stay in old city and hang in with the locals and other tourists.
