Fraidy Cat

I was forced to use this place a few years ago when our cat became ill. Neither of our regular vets could make a definitive diagnosis after three weeks of tests, and this was the only emergency clinic locally at that time. The minute I walked in it was a $70 charge. I had to fill out paperwork first, then they took my cat in the back and sent me on my way. They didn't see her until after lunch, when I was asked to stop by so they could discuss with me what they would do. They did blood work and the usual exam in the morning, with her previous records being sent in. She had numerous tests and blood work done in the week prior, but they wanted more. Long story short, my sweet girl had cancer of the urinary tract. She was 17 and had always been in good health. I was puzzled because she never had any urinary issues her entire life...not one UTI. Anyway, after a scope, biopsies, meds, etc., they were keeping her for a few days with a catheter in while they hoped the Piroxicam would work. I came in to visit her, but was told I had to have an appointment. Really?? So I made the bloody appointment and came back the next afternoon. Even with the appointment, I waited an hour before I could see her. They finally brought her in wrapped in a towel that reeked of urine. I threw the towel on the floor and hugged her and apologized to her for them doing this to her. She was soaked in urine, and I was, too. And the skin on her behind was scalded from it. Yes, she had a catheter in, but they couldn't clean the bloody cage??? Suffice it to say that the next day they let me bring her home with the catheter in so that I could take proper care of her because apparently THEY COULD NOT. WTH do those techs do there besides give a bad attitude when you ask for something? Sadly, there was no hope for my girl and there never was. I spent over $4,000 at that place and she still left me. The real kicker is the day before we let her go, I brought her back in to have her bladder drained so she could at least be comfortable until she was to leave us the next day. They did as I asked AND they gave her a Convenia shot....a long-acting antibiotic shot when she was dying! What the bloody hell? And it cost me $160. If I could have given -5 I would. I will never use this place again nor will I recommend it. The only positive in this is that we had a wonderful vet come to our home to let her transition peacefully on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I am thankful for that.

Note to the vets and owner of this "practice"...it is NOT about money for us. Try to remember that.
