It is a non-profit cultural organization in the year 1979, and its main goal is to encourage cultural diversity and spread knowledge of contemporary art. The association has participated in various activities in cooperation with museums and international institutions in order to support the achievement of cultural dialogue and artistic exchange.
The association established the Jordan National Museum of Fine Arts, which was inaugurated in 1980, and its unique collection of modern and contemporary works consists of more than one thousand eight hundred works that include paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs, artistic installations, textiles and ceramic works by more than 700 artists from 45 countries, most of them from Asia, Africa and America Southern.
In order to expand the original space of the National Museum in Jabal Al Weibdeh, the Royal Society of Fine Arts acquired a building located opposite the current building and between them is a park. This building, which was built in the 1950s, is now undergoing restoration work.
The Royal Society of Fine Arts and the Jordan National Museum of Fine Arts organize lectures, seminars and workshops. In addition to its exhibition catalogs, the association and the museum publish books on classical and contemporary art from Islamic and Arab cultures.
