I wish that I could rate the food as amazing as I have in my pasts visits. But I was unable to enjoy a meal last night from Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in Fayetteville, NC. Due to the horrible service received yesterday evening when I stopped in to dine with my sister.

I explained to my sister prior to arriving at the restaurant some history that I had with the restaurant. Some years ago when Shogun first opened I was impressed by the ambiance and how nice it was inside the restaurant. But after the newness wore off some of the traffic to dine in died down. But I kept coming because I liked it and the convenient location. I would always take pictures of the artistic creation displayed on the sushi dishes that I ordered some years ago but couldn't tag the location because at that time, some years back, Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in Fayetteville, NC did not have a Facebook page. After I spoke with the owner's wife about how it would be beneficial to their business and their marketing efforts to create a business Facebook page because it was free marketing. I told her that they needed to create a Facebook for their business and post pictures of the food/dishes to appeal the local area and that it might help increase traffic and revenue. From the feedback I received from her some months after that conversation, when I returned with my mom. She told my mom that I helped her and the business. She also told my mom that I was a nice girl.

However that was some years ago and things are subject to change. On yesterday while with my sister a waitress came over to take our order. I explained that my sister and I both had allergies so we needed some time to make our selections carefully. The waitress said ok, told us to take our time while she put in the order for appetizers and that she would return. She returned in 10 minutes she brought appetizers for my sister. My sister and I had questions about a few items that we were interested in. She answered our questions after the feedback she provided on the dishes we decided we needed more time because the dishes would cause issues with both of our allergies. So she she would be back. After sitting for 45 minutes, the waitress comes back, looks at us and continues to walk past us. This happened 6 more times. We had been there almost an hour and she made no more effort to take our order.

The customers seated on the back side of our booth had finished their meals and she was very interested in their needs and overall their dining experience and I noticed that the interaction was different. The waitress asked them how they were once they completed their meals and how could she assist them further. After I noticed that my sister was upset I told her not to worry about it that I would approach the manager. As I got up to address the issue. The waitress noticed and approached the table where my sister remained. At the same time I was sharing my concerns with one of the staff. I told her that we wanted to pay for our appetizers and leave. The waitress did apologize once she saw that we were leaving.

I am hoping that this was not a race issue but I was very disappointed with the service and also that we were not even provided with the same cordial behavior or speedy service that the customers on the other side of the booth received.
