Stayed 3 nights. OK Gym (see pics). Bad 1st room (see below). OK 2nd room. Large mini fridge in room was nice (standard in all rooms, not mentioned or pictured on saguaro website). Nice hotel staff. Nice & colorful (saltwater?) pool. Nice design aesthetic in the main areas of the hotel - the same cannot be said for the conference rooms.
Great location. Full supermarket directly across the street. Large Walgreens 5mins away.
My first room, 160, was on the ground floor and had pool access. The outdoor path to my room from the front desk was poorly kept. They drag trash from inside the hotel to the dumpster along this path and for my first 12 hours at the hotel there was a bunch of garbage on the path and it smelled & looked awful. When I followed the signs to my room, I initially turned back bc i thought I had made a wrong turn "they wouldn't have people walk past all this garbage and all these smells on the way to the room." i thought. I was wrong.
Ground floor pool access isn't all it is cracked up to be because you can only lock the pool access door from inside the room. Additionally, keyed room access faces the parking lot, which is accessible from the street. I did not feel safe in this arrangement.
The shower drain in my room was clogged. I took a shower and the water was over my ankles after 2-3mins.
My second room, 385, was not accessible from the street. No pool access (or view), but pool access is worthless and the city/mountain view is nicer than the pool view if you're not from the southwest. My second room had a slow drain. It might be a problem with the hotel drainage system (?).
The gym had 3 benches, 1 treadmill, 2 ellipticals, a 3way chest/incline/shoulder press machine, a pulley station and free weights up to 50lb. Wide area for calisthenics & other stuff. Only one mat.
