The hotel lobby and commons areas are lovely, the restaurants there are nice but I wouldn't stay in the hotel. We've come down from Anchorage to stay the night the times and of those three times, twice on separate occasions we had the smoke alarms go off on the middle of the night and we had to evacuate. Once in summer and once in winter. The first time it happened was for our anniversary in June. The alarms went off four times during the night. After we complained (there wasn't any fire--luckily) and asked for compensation for a sleepless night they gave us a free night which we used the following February for Valentine's Day. I could not believe it, but the same thing happened THAT night except it was much colder evacuating then. We vowed we'd never go back. I'm sure it was just bad luck but they didn't care much.
