It's crazy how unhelpful and rude the receptionist...

It's crazy how unhelpful and rude the receptionists are at Sutter. My brother was taken to the hospital earlier today, and my family wanted him to be referred to the psychiatric hospital. When I called Sutter to find out if he was there I found out that they keep no records of when a patient has come to the hospital. If he's not there currently they don't know. Then at the Center for Psychiatry I spoke to a cold/rude receptionist who had no helpful information other than to wait and see if he called. I get that there are some weird laws surrounding psychiatric hospitals, but when the family is trying to help a loved one by getting him into psychiatric care the least you could do is be polite, and give helpful information. Like come on. There's no record of a person being admitted to the hospital and transferred and when a family tries to get a patient admitted to the hospital they can't confirm or deny that they're there. My brother could easily die if he isn't admitted to a hospital and my family needs to know where he is so that we can search for him or file a missing person report. This terrible receptionist could at least help me understand the rules surrounding it, and help me figure out what to do next. It's ridiculous that people can retain their jobs when they're terrible at them.
