I would not recommend this firm. I worked with them on a possible house purchase last summer, which did not pan out. The lawyer found fault with all the documents the sellers put forward that, in retrospect, amounted to a lot of make-work and not much substance. I was unable to line up financing, and the deal did not go through. About six weeks later, I got an invoice for hundreds of dollars more than I'd been quoted initially. Invoiced tasks included 'asking his colleages in the office about mortgage rates,' which there was absolutely no reason for him to do; I had already worked with two mortgage brokers on a complex situation with many factors, including international cosigners etc, and knew what mortgage rates I was looking at and had advised him accordingly. It was insulting to say the least to be charged another $50 for him to be like "you should be able to get a much lower mortgage rate, my colleagues here in the office said so" when, in fact, I'd literally spent dozens of hours with two mortgage brokers working out what was possible. In Sooke I have had a much better experience with Hallgren and Faulkner and would highly recommend them over SLL.
