First, nice enough people... but led me down a pat...

First, nice enough people... but led me down a path that cost me a lot of money.

I put in a fire pit on my patio. I wanted a top that would really make it stand out. So I went to them to talk about a granite top. I asked them specifically ... can the granite handle the heat???? They said.. sure... no problem. WE DO IT ALL THE TIME!

Well.. the pit was put in and they installed the top. It cracked right away on the first use! I called them up and to their credit, they got right back to me. However, they then told me that in order to put in granite, I had to modify my pit! They never said this to start. They then called a "expert" (funny how they said they did this all the time but the had to call a expert") and they told them that I had to install a 1/4 inch steel liner in this pit! That also protected the granite edge! On top of that, I had to purchase a ceramic blanket to go under the granite! That cost me an additional $800.00!!!!! Not once did they say they needed this.

Well, he replaced the top for me at his cost. (which he insists he lost $1,200 on the job!!! which was BS). Put on the blanket which you could see under the granite now.. which I will have to trim to cover. More costs there...

So was put back in EXACTLY as they told me to do. It cracked again!!!!! first use!!!!

So, overall this project cost me double what he had said in the start! On top of that, I have to now replace my top again... with something that will work. I have sent him information on it being messed up again... no reply.

In all, I doubt he will just give me the money back as none of this was my fault! I spent $1,200 on this granite... and then an additional $1,000.00 doing extras to the pit for this all to work all after the first failure that was their fault.

I could of installed a kick as gas firepit for what this has cost me.

Well, next time I will go with my gut... my gut told me that granite would not work... I was right and the "experts" were wrong.
