First of all, its actual WOOD and while you may have to assemble it, the pieces come shipped perfectly wrapped for protection and with directions you can easily understand. All hardware and glue is supplied, and once assembled is a beautiful, dainty yet sturdy, and unique piece of furniture I've bought in a long time.
