We've rented a house for after New Years to celebrate and ski/snowboard when everybody else is drunk after the celebrations.
The good. The house is literally across the parking lot from the mountain. Ten minute walk to a lift.

The bad. When we went for a check in (we had the house from 3 pm), they told that it's not ready and they'll call us when it is. An hour later we drove by the house just to see piles of garbage from previous house guests. Two hours later (!), housekeeping arrives. All together, we could only get into the house 3+ hours later. We got a round of drinks on the house "for keeping us waiting".
Here's more bad. We live in twenty first century, with free internet (wired or wireless) in the cheapest hotels. This house has (and, according to the manager, never had) no internet connection what so ever. Couldn't even tether through my phone - data connection is very spotty and limited. When I've asked the manager how come (no, I will not drive/walk to hotel at 4 am in the morning drunk), I was told that if I'm not happy, I can get my money back and get out of the house.
