My first ever Butlins experience and my headline would be "not as awful as I expected". If anything it was actually a really nice break despite us visiting in the middle of winter. Good facilities, accommodation basic but clean and plenty to do on-site in all weathers.

The pool area is impressive and there is a constant stream of things happening from a shows point of view. The fun fair is small but varied and there are plenty of places to get a bit to eat or a quick drink (alcoholic or otherwise) as well as the small supermarket.

I'd certainly consider it again.
