One of the best zoos in the nation. Take the bus tour first to familiarize yourself with park. You can and will get lost. Afterwards just go on an adventure. We tried using the map to go to specific exhibits but ended up going with the flow. Saw a baby hippo and mom sleeping underwater. Also two tortoises fighting over watermelon rinds. A real treat. Located right next to balboa Park. Snake picture was taken in the reptile house, where it would be easy to spend over an hour.
