Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research is the premier institutions in the country. It is a hospital cum medical college on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences. It is an institute of national importance under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India and is located in Sector 12 of Chandigarh opposite Punjab University. The doctors in PGIMER are excellent the best in the country but the hospital is too over crowded and therefore does not prove its worth.
