I would not recommend Rudy Luther to anyone! By far my worst automobile purchase and service after my purchase. I own a certified pre owned Camry XLE. When I purchased my vehicle a few years ago I was supposed to have this midnight black Camry XLE at the last minute they tell me it wasn t available after the test drive and 4hrs of waiting. It was one of those July sales and just happen to be before the holiday. So for the inconvenience they offered me a car 10k less miles same price model different color. I accepted, what a disaster! They didn t have the cargo net or first aid kit, the car was on empty when I pointed it out to the sales person he said they only fill up new vehicles but was able to locate the cargo net for the trunk less the first aid kit as well! So everything is fine I take the car in for a regular oil changes and brakes. Until the day the stuttering began! I took the car in they said the stuttering problem was the tires. I quickly made an appointment with my tire provider, replaced all 4. The car felt like I was driving on rumble strips on the highway every now and again. A few weeks out the stuttering continued, took it back to Rudy Luther and they say it the it s the lip on your brake rim rubbing on the brake pads. I overheard one of the service-men say people come in all the time thinking something is wrong with their car when they hear a different noise. I agree to let them look at the brakes then suddenly after the hour wait they tell me I need a new transmission! Oh they said I m sorry to tell you, you need a new transmission. How is that possible this car has 149k miles? I ve had Camry run to 400k and NEVER have so much as a drip of oil. I agreed to the brake job only still in disbelief that this car needed a transmission. Later that evening I went home and searched the web it seems a fellow on Toyota Nation described the same problem and so did many others with the same year and make. This wonderful gent even went so far as to post the computer code to repair the car. His research showed that the year make and model of over 198k cars were released with this same problem- a stuttering transmission- throttle body. So instead of a recall they issued an extended warranty capped at 150k. I take my car back the next day to RUDY LUTHER showed the code and the problem to Dewayne the person helping me numerous times in the service area. He calls for the master mechanic who tries to convince me that my car even with the software update would need a transmission because at that point it just barely had a kick when I shifted gears; my car with 149,717 miles certified from Rudy Luther would need a new transmission! With zero other option because I still owe money on this car I agreed to the used transmission that they would located and install. I pay for the installation the other software update was under warranty so it was far less than the $4k they originally wanted. I take the car back the very next day because the gears were not shifting from park to drive smoothly. They look at it a say it was a pin the gear shift out of place. I should have know then, of course I go back after a month of driving and they claim to find nothing wrong. Winter comes- time to have my brakes and tires checked and very nice young lady listens to my previous experiences and is completely mind blown why no one would listen she says I m going to make sure the right person sees your car I m going to tell him what you told me. John comes out he says yep you need a new Transmission he said unfortunately the one they installed well the warranty ran out about a month ago. I told him how many times I had gone in about the car and how they treated me as though it was a figment of my imagination he looked at me and said, I think you d know if something was wrong with your car, other than the trans it s in perfect condition

I still have the car still needs that trans can t afford to replace it or purchase something newer, I would never buy from Rudy Luther they maybe the largest but go elsewhere. There s commitment is to Toyota!
