Had to go in for a full hysterectomy, all of the staff in pre-op was amazing, the surgical team all came in before my procedure to check on me, the anesthesiology department were absolutely top notch and amazing - All of those people get five stars because the surgery couldn t have went as well as it did without them. I had a pretty routine surgery but without their level of care and commitment to make sure that I could handle this surgery was phenomenal.

I did have an issue with my post-op recovery, however and I deducted one star but I wish that I could give that no stars because that was pretty dismal. After I was taken to a room, I really needed to pee. She assisted me to the bathroom but then immediately left. I got done, made it back to my bed and she hooked my legs up to the compression massage things. I was told to order lunch and I did. While waiting for lunch, my machines started beeping, 20 minutes later and they were still beeping. I had pressed the call button a couple of times and she never came. The kitchen staff and my boyfriend had to figure out how to stop it (it was because she didn t have my blood pressure cuff on properly).
Anyway, I eat and then I need to go pee again. Pressed the call button, waited 10 minutes, pressed it again. After 30 more minutes of holding my urine and my boyfriend saying would you like for me to go find her? I finally let him. This time, she undid my leg cuffs and I went to the bathroom alone.
Mind you, I m still under the influence of anesthesia, very dizzy and have had major surgery with internal organs removed, that would be a fall risk.
In fact, I had a fall risk bracelet on. Her level of care was nonexistent.
Went to pee, got back to bed, got the leg cuffs back on and decided to nap.
Woke up 45 minutes later, needing to pee again. Again, she never came when I pressed the button, waited 20 minutes. Had my boyfriend just undo the leg cuffs, he took me to the bathroom and we decided then that it would just be best to go home since I wasn t receiving any care there. I would be better at home.
Absolutely no help.
I still had EKG tabs stuck on me when I got home, I was pretty surprised that she didn t let me just walk out of there with the IV still in my hand.
He went to find her and it was just oh ok, I ll be in a second.
She was quick to get me out of there. I can give her that.
