BEWARE: Bloomie's Customer Service is located over...

BEWARE: Bloomie's Customer Service is located overseas, and their resolution of problems is non-existent: my experience indicates that they are completely incompetent.

I ordered three items online as birthday gifts for two relatives. One arrived, the other two did not, despite the building having a 24 hour doorman to accept deliveries. (Customer service said there was a delivery problem.)

Four times I requested that they be re-sent on an urgent basis. These are the four replies I got from four different customer service agents:

1. They will arrive in two business days. (They were not ever re-sent)
2. They are in transit- let us know if you don't get them by the end of the month (They didn't arrive because they weren't re-sent)
3. They were returned to Bloomingdale's and a credit will be issued. (I don't want a credit - I want the gifts to be re-sent)
4. We issued a gift card in the amount of the two missing items. (I never authorized my payment be converted into a gift card. I only ever asked that that the items be re-sent).

Before you order anything online for delivery, think twice. You will have no recourse if there is a problem.

I don't know how much money Bloomingdale's is saving by outsourcing their customer service to the Phillipines, but they must be losing lots of customers to this kind of gross incompetence.
