I am so sad to leave this poor review because this used to be our favorite "special occasion" restaurant. We hadn't been to Seed in so long due to COVID, we decided to treat ourselves to some semblance of normalcy and ordered curbside pickup. So disappointing. We ordered online, so you'd think there would be no margin for error. But still, ended up coming home with the wrong dish. My husband ordered a side salad which was literally a bowl of lettuce--no tomatoes, cheese, croutons, nothing. I ordered fish, which is my favorite dish to order there. Granted, ordering fish to-go is dicey. But I trusted that if they put it as available on their to-go menu, it would be prepared to withstand a ten minute car ride. Incorrect. The fish was so overcooked and dry it was inedible. Basically a piece of rubber. We ordered the shrimp appetizer but ended up not touching it as the shrimp clearly had not been cleaned properly and tasted like dirt. The dish we got, but did not order, was some crostini pimento cheese something, but tasted so off we also abandoned it.
All in all, we spent $90 on garbage food, some of which we didn't even actually order.
I will definitely go back after the pandemic, because I really don't mean to judge it by this one experience, but I hope this review is a warning to others not to order to-go! It was an experiment and I'm here to tell you it was an expensive failure! This place is definitely best in-person.
