On January 19, 2019 i went to the headquarters to file charges against a teacher whom had assualted my son. Upon arriving i was instructed to immediately go over to the phone on the wall and dial 2300. Upon doing that an unidentified officer picked up. I stated what I was there for and he told me someone would be down to take a report. Fast forward 2 HOURS after sitting in the lobby and watching two other people who came in after me get service and leave I went back up to the front desk to ask if anyone was coming down because it was snowing and I needed to pick up my other children and husband. The front desk called upstairs and then proceeded to tell me that they were sending an officer out to my house! WHY IF IM AT THE HEADQUARTERS!!! I quietly but frustrated left after telling them i had to take my son to the doctors to make sure he was ok after the assault. They send the police to my home while im at the hospital! The dispatch called me and i told her just that. She stated for me to call back when i was done. That was late at night so i wasnt going to keep my son up at that kind of night. They called me back at 1:45AM!!!! Left a voicemail asking if i wanted them to still come out to my home!!! No what i wanted you to do waa treat my son like the victim he is a make him a priority like your paid to treat EVERY HUMAN BEING! I just cried and cried. When you are a person of color in a predominate white suburban area you are treated less than. That makes this so heartbreaking for my son. This si not the first time they failed him. He waa jumped by two kids in my neighborhood. Upon calling the police they came out to my home and interrogated my son like he was the criminal. I stepped to remind him of that. When he saw the the two assailants were kids of someone he knew he told me and i quote: I have a suicide call that I have to get to. Someone else will have to deal with this! When i asked questions he said he would go up to the school on Monday. Called the school monday no POLICE HAD COME! The only reason they recieved two stars from me is because after two days a actual decent officer did his job thr correct way and we are now getting things done. I also know a few of them from hanging out at my old job and someone of them do actually take their job seriously. But ITS ONLY A FEW! BEWARE
