I have had 5+ experiences with this hospital. First, I would like to say Dr Viola in the E.R department is amazing .If you have the chance and are able see if he is there and request to see him. I have a couple of medical issuesone long term and I was recently diagnosed with psuedo tumor cerebri( increased fluid build up around my brain).My issue causes extreme headaches. Dizziness ect...Most of the people treat you like a drug addicted junkie at this hospital.It took my husband and i making them do a test my neurologist requested in order to figure out my diagnosis. They sent me home in the same way I came. I had to go agian 6mo later( after my diagnosis was confirmed) and they had the nerve to ask how do I know that I have that as if I made the name up.Sunday I was admitted and the Er doctor Viola was wonderful he did a lumbar puncture immediately got my pain inder control. And im so thankful to him. He admitted me 2 days later becuase i had some sort of leak and he said it could be fixed easily. The anesthesiologist later tried to convince me the procedure wouldnt work along with making other useless comments such as why didnt i wait 4 days instead of 3 to come back for my deblitating headache.Thankfully I listened to dr viola and had the procedure done anyway.It helped me alot.He was agian amazing, but the nurse on the 5th floor. Name. Belinda was rude, accused me of being drug dependant and said " my job is not to fix my attitude but its to care for people who are really sick ". I was completly done I had already spent 5 hours in serious pain . She completly ignored me and until I literally unhooked myself and started to leave.Then she just started screaming at me " im not giving you ( meds name)and go back to your room ill get to you when i get to you.Im givin my own pain meds which i had on hand they just werent helping the pain completly thats why i ended up at the hospital. It was like the worst headache ive ever had.so why would i come here if it were just about that..its just ridiculous.She even walked after me screamin someone stop her she has an iv in her arm and she uses medication after I told her i removed the IV.They talked me into staying but of course they just stuck up for her and made excuses for her actions.There are people out there with unfortunate drug problems but the hospital is always my last stop I have 6 kids a job and im in school,i go through pain in my day to day life but I work through it and when needed i have pain med.I would never choose to go to the hospital( especially this one) and its a shame they can treat people like that and get away with it. This is the closest hospital to me, but from now on ill travel to NF wellstar ( they are always awesome and they treat you with respect no matter your circumstance.
She even said later while she was in my room that" they are gonna stop taking people like you into the emergency room.Im completly shocked and it saddens me that people are going to be under her care..thank goodness shes not a doctor smh.
