I got several marketing calls from CCI South Africa on behalf of Smart Mobile. They insisted that they got my number from a "consumer data base", but refused to give me the details so I could follow up. I am therefore unable to determine who sold my name and number to them.
If you are making marketing calls you should be able to provide a caller with the necessary formation on where they got your details from. It is not enough to remove someone from the call list, because there is still a serious identify fraud risk.
