Yesterday personally visited to make a reservation. I put my car in front of the door (is just a car entry) was a Citroen garage last week so they are used to cars there I assume. There is one Lucas in a black t-shirt eating at the bar. I walk over to him and ask if I can make a reservation. He looks at me with an arrogant look and tells me that I first have to get my car away. I say excuse me? "You must remove YOUR car first, otherwise I will not help YOU" While he is eating quietly (and, by the way), I am surprised by his tone. I explain to you that I will be gone within a minute when the reservation is made. My explanation makes no sense. Personal service requirements are set by this serving staff member to make a reservation.
After a few sentences back and forth I felt that I was not going to have a nice evening there and I left.
I gave him a second chance and called 15 minutes later and got him on the line. First, he posed as "the owner" which is not the case. Secondly, he offered no apologies or anything. I advised him to go back to the Hotel School. If he has already sat on it at all.
Food in the Wibautstraat was fine, service further too. In Bautzuid people seem to suffer from the Pauw effect. Staff feels better than the customer. I will eat elsewhere.
