When we walked in, we thought 5 star all the way, ...

When we walked in, we thought 5 star all the way, it was very beautiful. Then entered the room and it was more like 2 or 3 star. Pubic hair on toilet, stuff falling apart.
Then at 4am fire alarm went off for false alarm, we had to evacuate the hotel! Then could not sleep much, was sleeping very good when the alarms went off. No explanation ever as to what happened.
Some of the people we met, were never woke up, had there been a real fire, they would have died.
The alarm went off only one one floor, we were 4 floors under it and it did not wake me up, it only woke my wife up, who shook me to find out what was happening. If not for her, I probably would have slept through it too and if a fire, probably be dead too.

The prices were terrible for the breakfast. $45+ for the two of us to eat breakfast. Wow, thank GOD my wife found a package that included it, I would have passed out when I seen the bill for two buffets! The food was good, but not THAT good!

The distance to our event was on the other side of the hotel, and that Hotel is HUGE. When we asked directions to it, they said it was on the complete other side. It was such a massive walk, it hurt me.
Now, if they knew we were there for that and they did because we told them, and they knew where our room was, why not ask us if we would like to move CLOSER to it?
I know they did that for another couple, and they did not have to walk far at all.
I have a bad knee, had surgery on it in 2001, and it is still very troublesome.
I had no idea I could have asked for another room. Why in the world did they not ask me, when they seen me limping? when they told me how far it was and joked that I would probably need a golf cart to take me????

I think the hotel overall is very beautiful, but the room we was in was falling apart. Terrible.
If you go, don't stay in Room 532. It would be a GREAT room at another hotel, but for that place?
1 star. I would say it was a 3 or 4 star room at a sub-par hotel. That rooms rate was normally like $220 to $259 per NIGHT, for that room? Are you kidding me?

Those are my very real thoughts on it.
Would I go again?
Give me a closer room, that is much nicer and more like the price you normally charge, and I'd go in a heart beat because of how nice the rest of the hotel is (outside of the rooms), and if they promise to not wake anyone up for a fake fire drill in the middle of the night. I'm okay if it is during the afternoon, when civilization is up. But don't do it when we are trying to sleep and having a hard time of it to begin with!
